How I planned for my 1754 miles road trip!!!!

It is the most wonderful time of the year ..... I love this song whenever I hear it. I love it too !! This time it is the most wonderful time of my life. My 1754 miles road trip, perfectly planned and executed.  Myself and my husband never planned for such a long trips before. Our trips are usually short for a day or so. We are basically couch potatoes😛 We had two reasons that was hindering us, first my husband really find it very difficult to find time for our trip. Secondly my little S who usually gets sick when we are at outdoors. I planned it precisely and executed it very well. I love to share my experiences and trips and tricks that might helpful  for other parents while executing road trip.  The trip took five days for us.

Day 1: We moved from Georgia to Orlando. The trip took us 6 hours. We reached Orlando exactly at 3:01pm (3:00 pm was the check in though). We took some rest and later that evening we explored the Wheel of the Icon park.

Day 2: We started our day early and we visited the Sea world, Orlando

Day 3: We moved from Orlando to Homestead, FL. Stayed overnight at an inn.

Day 4: We extended our trip to Key West , FL. We explored the beautiful city, enjoyed the beaches

Day 5: We enjoyed the airboat ride and retuned  home

Each and every day was a new beginning and was a blissful experience. I felt thankful towards God that he has given me a perfect trip and a family to enjoy it. I wished to document my experiences so that I can enjoy reading it and it will never fade away from my memory. I will try to share my trips and tricks that might be helpful for the parents travelling with kids. Hope it will be useful for all.

SIMPLE KIDS ACTIVITY TO DEMONSTRATE DAY AND NIGHT

My little S is always curious about day and night concept. I used to wonder why she was keenly interested. Then I came to know that since my mom was in India she used to call us only in the night time. At that time it will be morning for us. So when my Mom  wishes Good night S will reply no grandma it is morning still not dark. Tiny soul always confused about day and night. So I planned to demonstrate a quick experiment so that she will understand the concept much better.

 Things required:
                    1. Plastic ball
                    2. Color paint
                    3. Brush
                    4, Candle

 Method:
  1.     Draw the shape of the world map on the ball. I tried to represent North America and India clearly on the ball. Paint it with  blue and green  with the help of brush.

2. Now light the tea light candle. Hold the ball with the help of tooth pick and bring it near the candle.

3. Ask the kids to pretend the ball as our Earth. Gently rotate the ball around the light and explain that this is how our Earth revolves around the Sun.

4. Compare two continents that are opposite to each other on the Globe. We considered North America and Asia. Then explain that when it is morning here at this part of the world, it will be evening in the other part of the world and vice versa. Also explain the time varies at different regions of the world.

Happy learning!!!

COUNTING AND PATTERN MATCHING USING BEADS

Hi all,

Back again with the new activity for kids. We did this activity with my little S when she was 2 year old. It was very helpful. It helped her to develop fine motor skills and hand and eye co- ordination. I hope this will be really helpful for all the toddlers out there.

We purchased this string and beads from target. Next, I made this hand written patterns and numbers for my little S. First I  asked her to copy the pattern and bead the beads on the string. When she was able to gain some confidence I asked her to bead the number of beads corresponding to the numbers on the card. To my surprise she did a great job. Do try it and kindly post ur feedback.
