MY PAPER QUILLING

  Quilling of papers is one of my favorite hobby. I love quilling on new stuffs every day. Quilling is also referred to as paper rolling, paper scrolling, filigree, mosaic. This craft has an interesting history. It has its origin among the ancient  Egyptians,  gained its popularity in the hands of french and Italian monks , reached its glory  in the hands of Elizabeth, Joseph Bramah, Mrs Delany and lost its place in the later 1800's. Now this craft has got a revival.Initially this craft was popular among the  french and Italian monks. They made this craft using the torn pages of bible and feathers to decorate their  every day stuffs like book covers , tea- candies and other religious items.The craft which was once an " upper class" craft has now become common to everyone.Now that s an interesting history that I learned about quilling.
